Pray about it girl

Spring Cleaning

Have you ever been in a spiritual slump? You might have stopped going to church and now your Bible is somewhere in your bedroom collecting dust. How about the fact that your prayers have been slacking lately. You try your best to be present in your relationship with God but instead you easily drift off. Have you been there, because I have.

It wasn’t until yesterday when God opened my eyes to the truth. The enemy has tried multiple times to steer me away from God in this season by using my mind against me. You see the devil doesn’t use his voice to steer you away instead he uses a familiar voice much like your own.

“You will never measure up so why keep trying?”

“Why read the Bible, when you can watch Vampire Diaries.”

“You can make it to next weeks service.”

It’s time for spring cleaning, and recover from the attacks the enemy placed in your mind and spirit. He knows the places in your life to attack it could be placing doubts in a job or causing friction in a relationship. He will attack hidden parts in your heart where there’s pain. Where has he been attacking you?

For me, he’s been attacking all three and has caused me to steer away from God, placing my trust in the world instead of him. I’ve been seeking “Worldly Happiness“, love and acceptance from many different sources. It could be in relationships, tv shows and social media. Instead of bringing happiness it has brought self doubt and temptations.

Spring cleaning is a form of redemption bringing your self to God and asking for help. He is the God of redemption, why continue this new season with last season’s baggage. God reminded me yesterday that it’s okay to not be prefect but it’s not okay to give up. He opened my eyes to see the truth in the areas of my life where I’ve been slacking. I’ve neglected going to church, my Bible, and made well thought out excuses to sin. It’s time to ask God for help.

Has God placed in your heart to start a spring cleaning?

I’ am a Jersey native , born in El Salvador a small little country in Central America. Arrived to the United States, when I was four years old, not knowing where life will take me. Fast Forward eighteen years later, I’m twenty-three living with my boyfriend, his mom, and three brothers. Life can become hectic and extraordinary full of adventures and struggles, emotional and physical pain. Writing has been the number one source where I can express myself fully. Hopefully my writing can inspire you and help, where ever you are, who ever you are I want you to know you’re not alone and you are important. xo Cece
